Upcoming Florida Events

Just wanted to release the dates of upcoming Florida SCOA events as early as I can to give as much notice as possible. The events are spread out geographically to try to give everyone a chance for a local event. The first one is the Cypress Gardens event on October 25-26, 2009 in Haines City. The second event is at the St. Armands Circle Park in Sarasota on November 22, 2009. It is put on by The Mustang Club of West Central Florida. The last one is a weekend long event that is usually the first weekend in January. It is the Silver Springs Car Show in Ocala. The first 1000 registrants get 2 day passes for the park for 2 people. We will be checking out the National Parts Depots' car collection then cruising out to the Gulf of Mexico on Friday, dinner Friday night, and car show Saturday and Sunday. The show usually attracts people from around the country and the park has attractions for the whole family.

I will post the dates for Silver Springs and registration info. for the other shows when I get it. If anyone knows of any other Florida events, feel free to pm me the details.

The show draws over 1000 cars.

is the cruise for just the SCOA peeps or everyone in the show? If I'm not in Iraq at that time I'm deffinetly in for this show! The wife and I went last year as spectators! Is the registration forms out ye or do we have a date for those!? Thanks

Another update- The flyers for the St. Armand Show are not ready yet. Also, all I got from the owner of NPD is the dates. They haven't officially released the dates yet. They won't start working on the Ford show until the GM show is over. The cruise is the Pony Trails for all the Fords. Usually, Mustang Monthly and Mustangs & Fords cover the Pony Trail and the show. It is a good opportunity for exposure for SCOA.

So a few questions here:

1. First Come First Served Parking or do they park per class!?
2. Do I have to leave my Car at location Sat Night or can I leave the show Sat night ..... may/may-not return Sunday!?
3. Where is the best place to stay near the show!?

Just a quick reminder. Only the first 1000 registrants are free and they do get over that every year. Get those forms in. There is a hotel link on the NPD registration screen now. There are two SCOA members staying at the Days Inn across the street from the show. Feel free to post your hotel of choice so everyone can try to stay together.

2)Silver Springs- I got my confirmation number today. I am #286 out of 1000 free registrants. Rush those forms in to make the 1000. It is a great weekend.

Quick update-Cypress Gardens show is cancelled due to the park being closed and the land being sold.
